We are busy learning in music class! Our students are having a great time creating music, singing and drumming, and learning about music. Kindergarten is making music every Wednesday with Ms. Bryant as we learn the ropes at WTJ. First and Second Grade students have been learning about the different ways beats are organized: Beats are like Bananas - they come in different bunches! In music we organize the different "bunches" of beats into measures. We have been studying measures of 2, 3, and 4. The next time you hear a piece of music with your students, ask them to feel and find the beat! Second and Third Grade students have been introduced to the main campus keyboard lab! We are excited to have brand new headphones provided by Atlanta Public Schools Fine and Performing Arts. (We also have new headphones in the Primary Center Music Room).
The Jackson Chorus is off to a great start. We are 110 voices strong. Chorus parents order your student's chorus shirt HERE. |
