Break a leg!Audition week is a very exciting week! WE are going to have a great time. I am proud of our students who are risk-takers, often stepping out of their comfort zone, and audition to be a part of a show! Vocal Auditions (Leading Roles) are Tuesday and Thursday.Auditions begin at 2:30. Students signed up during music class. Pick up is at 4 PM in the front of the school. During pickup Please pull all the way down the yellow curb and do not stop in front of your student. We will load seven cars at a time, similarly to the way we unload in the morning school drop-off. Call back auditions will take place over the following two weeks. Casting will be announced at our first rehearsal on Tuesday, October 16 when we return from fall break. We have 65 students auditioning for leading roles. It is important for our young performers to enter the audition with a confident attitude while maintaining a realistic perspective on the outcome of the audition. All students who are selected for leading roles will anticipate getting that role as it usually takes such confidence to book a role. Unfortunately, our students who are not selected for leading roles may experience initial disappointment. My hope is that after a wonderful show experience, they will again audition for productions in middle school to build on their audition experiences. With Over 80 students auditioning for the production, Our audition process is like a workshop for our auditioning actors. The in-class audition process for the ensemble will last for 2 weeks. Students auditioning for leading roles may be asked to return the following week for a CALLBACK audition. Students do NOT need to prepare a solo for the callback audition. Receiving a call back is certainly a good thing, however, not receiving a callback is not a bad thing...
